TMP Television Edition: Competitive Reality Shows

Hey, guys!
Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks.
It’s a series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme.
Although I don’t watch much reality TV, I managed to come up with some shows for today’s topic!

#1 Project Runway

I am a very hands-on and DYI person – sewing included. Although I don’t have the time to do it very often, it’s one of my favorite hobbies. Project Runway always manages to teach me something new and is inspiring. Especially, the season with kids was impressive – so much talent!

#2 Nailed It!

Baking is also one of my hobbies so every now and then I liked to watch a baking show on TV. My favorite so far is Nailed It. Again, it teaches you something and you don’t feel bad because everybody is so much better at baking than you. In fact, you’ll actually feel great because most likely you’ll be better than the people on the show.

Today we’ll talk about great final films of actors and actresses – so here we go!

#1 Giant

James Dean’s career was short, yet he is one of the most famous actors of all time. Although I did not love everything about Giant, it is still an impressive movie with an A-list cast. In his final role James Dean show so much promise for what could have been.

#2 The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Another tragic death here. I loved Heath Ledger throughout my teen years and was absolutely heartbroken when he passed away. His final film was nowhere near done at that time, so Terry Gilliam spiced it up by having different actors fill in for Ledger. The outcome was so much better than I would have expected.

I like game shows where I can learn something and test my knowledge. So, I’ve seen many an episode of this one.

#2 Jeopardy!

The same goes with Jeopardy. I like that you can also test your knowledge and find out whether you’d qualify for the show on their website. Let me tell you, those questions are super hard!
