Oh, how excited I was to get my hands on this one. I read it the minute I received my special edition copy from Fairy Loot, it just took me a while to write a review. Anyways, let’s have a little chat, shall we?

I loved it. I loved it all the way through.
After devouring the first two books I couldn’t wait to find out how the story would end.

Just about every single one of her outfits described in the books – from ballgown to assassin slacks – sounded downright gorgeous. I’d put on everything Jude ever wore in a heartbeat.

So, I recently finished this book and loved it so much. The main character Alessandra has a thing for fashion and creates most of her clothes herselves. On top of that she keeps setting new trends the entire court tries to emulate. If I could steal one of her outfits, I would.

The Lost Sisters by Holly Black (The Folk of the Air #1.5)

Hello, my beloved readers!
I devoured The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King and can hardly wait for Queen of Nothing to be released. Well, I just found out that Holly Black gave us this little short story, set just after the first book!

In short: this is Taryn’s take on what went down in The Cruel Prince. It’s something between an explanation and an apology written by her.

The Rating:

So, here’s the deal: is this an absolute must-read? No. Does it add much to the story? No. Will those who enjoyed the first book love it? Sure thing.

Even if you don’t end up digging this novella, nothing is lost. It’s really short you won’t even need an entire afternoon to read the thing. If you want to give it a go, you should make sure to read it right after The Cruel Prince. I read it a few months after finishing both full-length novels and I really had to concentrate to keep the timeline straight and not mix stuff up.

I started with this amazing Australian series many years ago and read the first three books. Then other things got in the way and never continued with the remaining novels. It’s a shame ’cause the story is super intriguing. I will finish the series at some point. I just don’t know when that is.

You have no idea how excited I am about Queen of Nothing, the final installment of Holly Black’s The Folk of the Air trilogy. It’s one of the most anticipated releases this year and it can’t come out soon enough. I devoured the first two books, so of course, I will finish the series!

I binge-read the first two books in Holly Black’s The Folk of The Air Trilogy. The story was capturing, so of course, I am excited for the next part to arrive. However, I will need to reread The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King to get back into the story before Queen of Nothing is released!

#2 Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead

First of all, I think this is a book that every woman (and man for that matter) should read. Although I don’t re-read books often, I find myself flipping through the pages quite often. It’s a steady reminder of how far we’ve already come but that at the same time we are still not even close to the end.
