Hey, guys! Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks. It’s a series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme. We’re still all about the horror topics for October, so let’s talk about some horror comedy flicks!
#1 Evil Dead II/Army of Darkness
You have no idea how much I love this movie series. The first Evil Dead movie is mostly just horror not comedy but part 2 and 3 are amazing. You’ll be laughing so hard! Can we just take a moment to appreciate Bruce Campbell?
#2 Braindead aka Dead Alive
Did you ever wonder what Peter Jackson was doing before LOTR? This movie is something else. I swear, more people need to know it and love it!
Hello, hello! 2019 had so many great films in theaters I am still trying to catch up with my reviews. Although there wasn’t a single film I didn’t enjoy, I certainly had one of the best times ever with Ready or Not. Let’s find out why!
Grace and Alex just got married. Grace is excited to finally reconnect with Alex’ estranged family – something she will soon regret. It’s a family tradition to play a game with the new family member. Only in her case, it’s pretty lethal…
What can I say about Ready or Not? Well, the idea is absolutely bonkers but for some reason, it works out just fine.
Not only is the story crazy, but filmmakers also managed to marry gore-y sequences with a great sense of humor. I know many people won’t like the film exactly because of that. Too much blood, too many things they don’t consider funny, etc. But it was right down my alley, so I had a blast.

Reviews for all of those are coming in April – so stay tuned!
#1 Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
I actually went to see this one twice. Tarantino’s latest picture divides audiences and I can understand why some people disliked it. However, I for my part had a great time with it!
#2 Ready or Not
Speaking of great times! I laughed so much while watching this crazy movie. Samara Weaving is stunning and in the final scenes, she gave me Heather vibes. Ready or Not was (by far) not as hyped as my other picks but it gets a 100% recommendation from me.
