Hey, guys! Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks. It’s a series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme. Today we bring back a topic we already did last year – period drama.
#1 A Knight’s Tale
Oh, how I miss Heath Ledger. A Knight’s Tale was such a funny and cute film with him!
#2 Downton Abbey
Although I didn’t exactly love the first Downton Abbey movie, it was still pretty decent and after the rather iconic TV show definitely deserves its place in this list.
Hello, guys! I know it’s been a hot minute since this year’s Academy Awards were handed out but I am finally catching on my reviews. So today I bring you one of the films I had high hopes for only to see it being awarded only with the Oscar for costume design. This movie deserved better.
The latest adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s famous novel! We follow the March sisters: Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth as they try to navigate through life, transitioning from children to adults.
I guess I should start this review by informing you that I have not seen any of the previous adaptations (although I am really curious about the one with Winona Ryder) nor have I ever read the book. In fact, I wasn’t even familiar with the plot apart from what the trailer provided us with.
Nevertheless, I went to see this film on the very first day it aired for the very first screening here in Austria.
