Top 5 Tuesday: U – V – W – X – Y – Z

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
For this month, Shanah came up with something very special. Each Tuesday I share my top 5 books beginning with the respective letters of the alphabet assigned for the day.
It’s our final post for this month so I’m covering the remaining six letters, U, V, W, X, Y and Z!

U – The Umbrella Academy

I usually don’t read comics but after watching the Netflix adaptation I was curious. The style is pretty cool, but the story was weird (even weirder than the show!) and hard to follow. I read both volumes in an afternoon, so it wasn’t much of a loss but I definitely prefer the show.

V – The Vile Village

Did you know that there are 13 books in Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events? The Vile Village is one of them. It’s not my favorite in the series but I found it quite intriguing!

You all knew I was just waiting for a chance to name a Sarah J. Maas book. Kingdom of Ash is the final book in the TOG series and wrecked in just about all ways possible.

L – The Lovely Bones

Usually, I read the book before watching the film. In this case, it was the other way around, so I figured I knew what to expect. The book was somewhat different from the film and not necessarily in a good way. I wasn’t as thrilled by this book as I hoped I would be.

Thursday Movie Picks: Letters

Hey, guys!
Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks.
It’s a series hosted by Wandering through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme.
This week I’ll talk about some famous movies that came to my mind when I read Letter as this week’s topic!

#1 Letters from Juliet

I’ve never seen this film and most likely won’t ever check it out. It’s one of those romantic flicks, so if that is your thing, give it a go. There are lots of positive reviews out there.

#2 The Scarlet Letter

The Scarlet Letter has inspired several adaptations, none of which I’ve seen (yet). Once I get around to reading the book, I will make sure to also watch some of the more famous screen versions. I know that the reviews on the Demi Moore version are rather negative, but it’s still the most famous one.
