Hollywood: Mini-Series – A Review

Hey guys!
Today I bring you a mini-series I’ve been excited about ever since Netflix dropped the first trailer. I binged it the first day it was available – it only took me a couple of months to write the review. Anyways, here we go!

The Plot:

It’s the 1940s in Hollywood. We follow a group of aspiring actors trying to make it in the film industry. There’s a good amount of hurdles the world throws their way…

The Rating:

Okay, so my feelings about this show are a bit mixed.
This mini-series features a good amount of over-the-top moments that will irritate you. At the same time, there are also scenes that are quite touching and entertaining.

TV Show Spotlight: Feud

Hey guys!
Today I want to share one of my favourite TV shows that started in 2017! As anthologies are popular at the moment Ryan Murphy (writer for American Horror Story) created this new show.

The second season, which will premier in 2018, is about Prince Charles and Princess Diana – so that is bound to be interesting too! Continue reading

Book vs. Movie: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009+2011)

Both book and movies are pretty famous by now. But somehow I never managed to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. At least not until a few weeks ago when I stumbled through the library in desperate need for a good read for the weekend. By now I’m almost finished with the last book in the Millenium series! And I caught up on the movies as well 😉

(2011 adaptation)

The Plot:
The journalist Mikael Blomkvist hit rock bottom. After his magazine Millenium published an investigative report on Wennerström, Blomkvist was sentenced to prison as his allegations turned out to be wrong. While he takes a break, he gets an unexpected proposal. Mikael Blomkvist is asked to investigate an 40-year-old murder case. With the help of the super investigator and social nightmare Lisbeth Salander he discovers some interesting findings… Continue reading
