Top 5 Tuesday: Cute Romances

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
This week’s topic is a real challenge for me. As I don’t really read romance books, it’s not easy for me to come up with a list of 5 cute romance books. Well, after browsing a list of popular cute romance novels on Goodreads I realized that I actually did read quite some of those books!

#1 The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

This is the only John Green book I ever liked. I actually ended up hating everything else I read by him with the fire of a thousand sons. However, TFIOS was really pretty cute.

#2 Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

I loved just everything about this book. Especially the music mentioned throughout went immediately to my current favorites playlist. The relationship that develops between Simon and the mysterious guy he has a correspondence with went straight to my heart.

Top 5 Tuesday: “Unputdownable” Reads

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Let’s see about some books I just couldn’t put down!

#1 A Court of Mist and Fury

I wasn’t exactly thrilled by the first book in the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas and had almost quit after that one. However, I kept going and, boy, I am glad I did! After the chapters with Tamlin were finally over, I basically burned through A Court of Mist and Fury as well as through A Court of Wings and Ruin in just three days.

#2 Heartless

Marissa Meyer had already impressed me with The Lunar Chronicles. Trusting that Heartless would be good as well, I picked it up without even know what it was about. Well, I was sucked into the story from the first page on and couldn’t stop reading!

Book Talk: Heartless by Marissa Meyer

Hello, my darling readers!
As I mentioned before, I picked up a bunch of books by Marissa Meyer. I already reviewed Stars Above and Cinder. However, not it’s time for something not related to The Lunar Chronicles.
Let me introduce you to Heartless!

The Plot:

Catherine might soon be the happiest woman in all of Wonderland. Rumor has it, the King of Hearts wants to marry her.
What would fill most young women with excitement, only fills her with dread. She doesn’t want to be Queen, she doesn’t even want to be a lady. All Cathrine wants is to open her own bakery.
Well, life is what happens while you’re busy making plans…

The Rating:

I have a confession to make. I picked up Heartless without having the faintest idea what the book would be about. Honestly, I hadn’t even read the blurb.
The Lunar Chronicles were fascinating, so I figured I’d also enjoy this book by Marissa Meyer and added it to my stack.

You can imagine, I was a bit surprised that Heartless is set in Wonderland (as in Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland). Once I had settled into the story, I just couldn’t stop reading. Marissa Meyer creating a capturing narrative that is unique despite being closely interspersed with something so famous.

Hey, guys!

Romantic Reads are a bit of a challenge for me, as I’m not a huge romance reader. Anyways, let’s make this work!

#1 Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda:

I know this is not exactly a new book, however, I only got around reading it recently. If this is not one of the cutest love stories ever, then I honestly don’t know. It’s just the kind of book you really want to hug. Simon mailing back and worth with blue and finally discovering his identity was an amazing read. Favorite love story ever!

#2 Heartless:

Another book I only recently picked up. You might have figured out by now that I like Marissa Meyer’s novels. With Heartless I had no idea what to expect but I found one of my favorite couples ever. Catherine is super relatable and I’d love to have a guy like Jest in my life!
