Hello, hello, hello!
Winter is almost over and we almost reached the point where many awesome TV shows return for another season. This spring we have a bunch of great stuff to expect. Read on to find out which new season I can’t wait for to begin!
#1 The most obvious: Game of Thrones Season 6!
Those who read my blog more regularly will know by now that I’m a GOT fan. What excites me so much about this season is that from here on the TV show is further along in the story than the books. Although the last season offered some bits there were completely different from in George R. R. Martin’s novels, I have no idea what to expect and what to prepare for. There’s only one thing I know: It will be epic.
Can we please start already so I can go and rip my heart out because of my favourite characters most likely dying again?
2015 was the year of many amazing shows returning for another season. After my post on the best shows I discovered in 2015, I now want to honor all the stunning seasons I followed this year!
#1 – American Horror Story – Hotel:
So far I loved all AHS seasons (maybe #4 – Freak Show a bit less than the others…) but this one really took my breath away. It is creepy and haunting. The soundtrack is absolutely brilliant and – as always – the actors are superb. Beside a lot of familiar faces returning for this season, we also got someone new playing her first big role. Lady Gaga took one of the leading roles. At first I was very sceptical but she did an amazing job, I was deeply impressed by her performance.
This post is for all of you who suffer from the post GOT blues. The last season left me rather devastated and we have to wait almost a year for the next one. No one knows when the book will be out so I needed something else. Here are my five favourite funny Game of Thrones videos, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
#1 Honest Trailer:
I was rolling on the floor laughing when I watched this one for the first time. It so funny because all that is mentioned is true! Absolutely ridiculous.
I just finished watching the final episode and I am so done. With the books all read I thought I was prepared for this season, but hell no…
I had a really hard time adjusting to the plot straying so far from the books. For the first episodes I was extremely confused but by now I simply accepted it (more or less). I’m still yelling “You can’t just die! You’re not even supposed to be here!!” at the screen…
However difficult it is to deal with, surprises are guaranteed. There’s no chance to feel save anymore, not even if you read the books!
Dorne was a huge disappointment. As mentioned before, I read the books. So I was really excited to see Dorne, a vibrant place with fierce warriors and bad-ass women, come to life. But the TV version was rather pale. There was no depth, the characters remain but a shadow. I was hoping for so much more. What annoyed me in particular was the nude scene in the prison cells in Dorne. I am aware that the show features a lot of nudity but this scene was absolutely unnecessary.
Thought #3: Continue reading
Vikings is my latest choice when it comes to TV shows. By now I’m four episodes into it and here’s what I think:
1. They very first thing I thought after about one minute was “Hey that’s like Game of Thrones with awesome beards and even cooler braids.” (Don’t get me wrong, that’s a very good thing!) Continue reading
The new season of Game of Thrones finally started! I can’t tell how excited I am. I recently finished the books and wonder how the adapted it for TV. So far they did a great job transferring the books into a TV show.
Now that we are facing the new season I want to look back a bit. It took me some time to discover this show. To be exact, three seasons were awaiting me when I decided to give it a shot. However, from the first episode I watched, I was hooked.
You wouldn’t believe how richly layered a TV who can be. The books are incredible and after I read them, I’m even more impressed by the show. There are so many things, characters, stories, details – reading it you’d think it’s impossible to make a TV show out of it.
A big praise goes out to the people who did the casting. No way could there be a more perfect choice of actors. So far there was not one person I would consider unfitting for the role. Continue reading
