What If…?: Season1 – A Review

Hey guys!
In my quest to finally catch up with all the Marvel shows released on Disney+, I finally sat down and watched What If…? Let’s see how that turned out!

The Plot (as found on Rotten Tomatoes):

Reimagining noteworthy events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and creating a multiverse of infinite possibilities.

The Rating:

What an interesting concept!
Somehow this show feels like a discussion among nerds brought to the TV screen and I’m here for it. It’s a little bit “butterfly effect” as we can see how one little change might severely impact the course of history.

The Book of Boba Fett: Season 1 – A Review

Hello, my darling readers!
Today we’re taking a closer look at another installment in the Star Wars franchise: The Book of Boba Fett. As I really enjoyed The Mandalorian, I had high expectations for this one. Let’s see if it can live up to that!

The Plot (as found on Rotten Tomatoes):

On the sands of Tatoonie, bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigate the Galaxy’s underworld and fight for Jabba the Hutt’s old territory.

The Rating:

I’ve got a confession to make before we get to the nitty-gritty of this show. The only reason I started watching Boba Fett was for more Baby Yoda content. Yes, I am fully aware that his name is Grogu but Baby Yoda sounds way too adorbsies to not roll with that.

So, it turns out that this was actually a good reason to watch the show, as it certainly delivered in terms of Baby Yoda. I swear, my poor little heart can’t take so much cuteness! I don’t want to spoil things for anybody who hasn’t watched this yet, but the Dadalorian content is really chef’s kiss.

Noelle

Hello, hello!
It is December, so I hope you all are ready for a volley of Christmas movie reviews! Let’s kick things off this time with Noelle, a 2019 Disney production.

The Plot (as found on Rotten Tomatoes):

Kris Kringle’s daughter is full of Christmas spirit but wishes she could do something important like her brother Nick, who will take over for their father this Christmas. When Nick is about to crumble like a gingerbread cookie from all the pressure, Noelle suggests he take a break and get away…but when he doesn’t return, Noelle must find her brother and bring him back in time to save Christmas.

The Rating:

To kick off the traditional series of Christmas movie reviews, we’re taking a closer look at Noelle. I’ve been doing this for a while now, so I feel like I’m running out of X-Mas stuff to talk about. That also means I’m now diving into movies I’ve never even heard before and will hopefully pleasantly surprise me. Noelle is one of them.

I just browsed through Disney+’s section of remotely Christmasy-looking things, and this was the first film to catch my eye. An Anna Kendrick flick? I’m sure that’s gonna be nice. Well, turns out it was more on the cringe side of things but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Hamilton

Hello, guys!
I know I’m SUPER late to the party but I finally watched Hamilton (after listening to the soundtrack for ages). Let me tell you, this musical did not disappoint!

The Plot (as found on Rotten Tomatoes):

An unforgettable cinematic stage performance, the filmed version of the original Broadway production of “Hamilton” combines the best elements of live theater, film and streaming to bring the cultural phenomenon to homes around the world for a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Rating:

Well, this was long. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the whole performance but it’s almost three hours. Although the story and songs were great I just couldn’t watch it in one sitting.
If you watched let, I’d love to hear whether you did like me or just watched the whole thing at once!

However, it wasn’t too long in any way. There were no scenes or songs I would have cut. It’s simply a little much to take in – in the best way possible.

The Mandalorian: Season 2 – A Review

Hey guys!
I finally found the time to sit down and inform you of my very important thoughts on the second season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. Let’s see what Baby Yoda has been up to! Oh yeah, and Mando too!

The Plot (according to RT):

The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.

The Rating:

Well, this season was quite a ride. I’ll be perfectly honest. I wasn’t fully on board with the first episodes and still have some criticism but the last few episodes really pulled the ship around for me. Also, there will be quite a few spoilers from here on, so continue to read at your own risk. 😉
