My Favorite 2019 Blogging Moments Tag!

Hey guys!
The wonderful Laura from thebookcorps tagged me to do a brand post idea she came up with. Therefore, I’ll be sharing my favorite blogging moments for 2019 with you today. At the end of the post, I tagged a few bloggers whom I’d love to do this tag as well. However, even if I didn’t tag you, please go ahead and join in, I’d love to read all your posts!

Da Rules:

  1. All the answers must be about your blog posts
  2. Please link the original creator of the tag so I can see all your posts!
  3. You don’t have to provide just one post for each question, you can provide as many as you want so long as they were written in 2019
  4. If you haven’t written a post that matches one of the questions, choose one that relates to it as close as possible
  5. Tag 5+ bloggers so they can share their accomplishments too! And make sure you read the posts they share!

I already shared my favorite book reviews of 2019 but I think the one I poured most feeling into is the review for A Court of Mist and Fury. Although I found quite a few issues I have with Sarah J. Maas’ writing, I was blown away by ACOMAF at that time and beyond excited to write my post.

Well, I don’t really do discussion posts. However, the one post that sparked the most discussion here on my blog, my tumblr page and in real life is definitely my review of the final season of Game of Thrones. I had a lot of opinions when it for this trainwreck of a season and gave a rather detailed account of all the reasons it sucked and everything Benioff and Weiss did wrong. Many people joined in and added all their reasons why they hated the final GOT season.

I haven’t done too many fun posts this year. Between Top 5 Tuesdays and Thursday Movie Picks I just tried to get my regular reviews posted. Well, I did do the Mid Year Freakout Tag. I had a great time coming up with answers to all the questions, so be sure to check it out and tell me your choices!

Top 5 Tuesday: Book Reviews I wrote in 2019

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Normally Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and it is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
However, since it’s Christmas Shanah is taking a break and there are no prompts for today and next week. So, I’m improvising a bit. Today I’ll share my favorite book reviews I wrote this year and next week you’ll get a wrap up of my entire blogging year (including also non-bookish posts!).

#1 A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

I started this year by reading the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas. At that time I was hooked and just couldn’t put the books down. Although I since have found a few issues I have with her novels, I love all the ACOTAR reviews I wrote because I so passionate about the books at that moment. You can really tell when you read my review for A Court of Mist and Fury.

#2 A Court of Hearts and Darkness by (ACOTAR FanFic)

After I had a huge bookish hangover when I finished the ACOTAR books, I searched the web for some more material. I just wasn’t ready yet to part with this world!
I happened to stumble upon an utterly brilliant fanfiction on tumblr. (When I say fanfiction I actually mean an entire book length-wise.) You can’t imagine how I cried during a particular chapter (read it and you’ll know which one I mean right away)! It’s such a great piece of writing and I also wanted to give a shoutout to all the fanfiction writers out there who pour so much time and effort into their works!
Here’s the link for those who want to check it out!

What to expect from The Punk Theory in 2019

Hey guys!
In the last post of 2018 I want to share my plans for The Punk Theory. Many great things are to come in 2019!

  • I’m planning to change up my usual blogging routine and write more posts.
  • Some months (not all of them) will have certain topics. I want to surprise you with most of them, so I’ll only tell you what I’ve got for January: it’ll be Alfred Hitchcock month! He’s one of my favorite directors so the first month of 2019 will be dedicated to his movies.
  • I’ll be doing more movie reviews in 2019, but don’t worry, there will also be months focusing on books, TV shows and of course book vs. movie posts!
  • Furthermore, I want to be more social and connect with other bloggers. I was a bit stressed out in 2018 so I shamefully neglected that. In 2019 I will regularly participate in Thursday Movie Picks and Top 5 Tuesday!

Liebster Award :D

Hey my lovely readers!
Darta, the amazing owner of the blog The Butterfly Girl, nominated me for a Liebster Award. I am super excited so let’s get down to answering her questions!

First of all – Da Rules:

Liebster Award is an award given to bloggers by bloggers with aim to discover and spot new bloggers.

1 → Acknowledge the blog who nominated you;
2 → Answer the 11 questions that your nominator has asked you;
3 → Nominate 11 other bloggers;
4 → Ask them 11 questions;
5 → Let them know that you have nominated them;

Darta’s Questions:

1. What movie title would describe your blog the most and why?
My blog was originally named after a quote from Planet Terror before I re-branded it! However, for this question I’ll go with A Life Less Ordinary. It’s not exactly a famous or popular movie, but that’s just why it fits. I have a talent to never quite fit in, so I might as well embrace it. On my blog I often share unpopular opinions and disagree with what everybody else seems to love. So cheers to doing things differently! Continue reading

The Real Neat Blog Award *woohoo*

I just found out that Deanna from A Novel Glimpse nominated me for the Real Neat Blog Award and I am super excited! Thank you!

First of all, Da Rules:

  • Thank and link to the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer the 7 questions the nominator has provided.
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers.
  • Create 7 questions for your nominees.

Deanna’s questions:

Tell me which was the best and which was the worst book you read so far this year.

This is hard to answer. I read the entire Harry Potter series and the last few books of A Song of Ice and Fire and loved all of them. No chance I could pick a favourite there. However, the worst book is easier: I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy and didn’t like any of the books, but the first part The Fellowship of the Ring was the worst.
