Top 4 TV Shows that feature Magic

Hey guys!
I haven’t written a list in ages, so it’s definitely time to tackle a new subject. Todays post will be about my favourite TV shows that involve magic!

#4 – The Worst Witch:

I have only a faint memory of this one, but I really loved it when I was a kid. The best way to describe this show is as a funny version of Harry Potter with a female Neville in the leading role. Mildred Hubble is a young witch who attends a magic school. But – you guess it – she’s having quite a lot of trouble!
While doing research for this post I  found out that a re-boot of The Worst Witch aired this year, Bella Ramsay is starring as Mildred (you might know her as Lyanna Mormont). I need to check it out asap! Continue reading

Old vs. New: Bewitched

Hey Guys!
Today I have one of my rarer posts for you: old vs. new! Remakes of once popular movies and shows seem to be in fashion, so let’s find out whether it’s a good idea! From an old TV show to a Hollywood blockbuster: Bewitched!

The Plot:
In the original show Darrin and Samantha get married. However, soon after he gets the shock of a life time: Samantha is a real with. And she comes with an annoying witch-mother who isn’t too fond of regular humans…
For the movie we get an interesting take: They want to shoot a reboot of the show and accidentally cast a real witch for Samanthas part…

Old vs. New:
The DVD of the movie originally found its way into my home because it featured three episode of the old TV show and I was dying to finally check that one out.

I have to say that I only know a couple of episodes, not all 254. But those I watched are absolutely adorable. The original Samantha is charming and lovely. It has that perfect 60s vibe and style I really fancy. Some of the jokes may be a little old-fashioned but are still funny. I imagine quite a lot of effort was needed back in the day to make the magic look halfway decent. So extra points for that!

Top 3 old TV Shows

Do you know those really cute old TV shows that have a certain charm? Well, I always loved watching them, so here are my top 3!

1. Bewitched:
I’m not even sure if this ever aired on Germain/Austrian television. It was once mentioned in some other show and I knew I have to see Bewitched. I even bought the dvd of the movie (not that good) only because it had three episode of Bewitched as bonus material. Totally worth it!
Bewitched is a lovely show about Samantha, a witch, who marries a normal mortal man. She struggles with living without magic – and her mother constantly nagging about her husband. Although I have not seen that many episodes, I can tell that this show is absolutely great. It may depict an image of women as nothing but a housewife that is not correct anymore but Bewitched is still absolutely charming.

Top 6 TV Moms

Hey my lovely readers! Today I bring you my favourite TV moms. Be sure to come back in a few days to read about the best TV dads!

6. Endora (Bewitched):
In Bewitched, a lovely show about a witch marrying a human, she portrays Samantha’s mother, who is less than happy about her daughter’s choice. Endora only wants the best for her and is simply hilarious with her comments about humans. But she still accepts and supports her daughter’s decision, no matter what.

Top 10 TV Show Intros

Today I bring you my favourite TV intros. This idea comes from a friend of mine who suggested this post. I’m delighted to write it and I hope you like my list 😉

10. How I Met Your Mother:
One of the most famous sitcoms of the last few years is the first show on my list. It’s about Ted who tells his kids how he met their mother (taking 9 seasons to do so). This intro is one of favourites for the photos it shows. Although it’s a TV show you could believe that these scenes are real-life. The song Hey beautiful also goes great with the entire theme.
