Top 5 Tuesday: books I don’t talk about enough

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
This week was a bit of a challenge for me. 2019 has, so far, been the year where I am finally catching up with all the famous young adult books all the bloggers have been raving about for ages. So, almost everything I read this year gets talked about plenty. I had to dig a little deeper to find some material for this week’s T5T post and gather some books I don’t talk about enough!

The Ruby in the Smoke by Philip Pullman

You may know Philip Pullman as the author of the His Dark Materials trilogy which was adapted into a TV show set to be released this year.

The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan is a household name in the young adult genre. While his Percy Jackson books are usually the main center of attention, his Kane Chronicles trilogy is also amazing. The books are focused on Egyptian mythology which is something so very different than what you usually hear about. These books certainly deserve more love.

His buddhist girlfriend transferred his soul to … I don’t want to scare you here so I’ll just say to another vessel. How ever when ghosts begin talking to a guy on the Golden Gate Bridge and a new Death is in town Charlie has to hurry to find another body before it’s too late… Continue reading

Book Review: A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore (Grim Reaper #1)

Hey Guys!
Today’s book is a real gem. I actually picked this book randomly just because the cover looked kind of cute. All I wanted was to test the ebook library thing my new tablet has. However, I managed to pick one of the funniest and smartest books in a long time!

The Plot:
Charlie Asher is shattered. Just a few hours after his daughter was born his wife dies. Already struggling with his new life, Charlie starts seeing weird things – like stuff in his store that suddenly glowing read. Well, the thing is nobody else seems to notice!
When his little daughter suddenly gets two hell-hounds as her new pets things start to become clearer: Charlie Asher is death. Not the capital D death but one death. His new job is to collect souls – and battle the forces of the underworld… Continue reading
