My Favorite 2019 Blogging Moments Tag!

Hey guys!
The wonderful Laura from thebookcorps tagged me to do a brand post idea she came up with. Therefore, I’ll be sharing my favorite blogging moments for 2019 with you today. At the end of the post, I tagged a few bloggers whom I’d love to do this tag as well. However, even if I didn’t tag you, please go ahead and join in, I’d love to read all your posts!

Da Rules:

  1. All the answers must be about your blog posts
  2. Please link the original creator of the tag so I can see all your posts!
  3. You don’t have to provide just one post for each question, you can provide as many as you want so long as they were written in 2019
  4. If you haven’t written a post that matches one of the questions, choose one that relates to it as close as possible
  5. Tag 5+ bloggers so they can share their accomplishments too! And make sure you read the posts they share!

I already shared my favorite book reviews of 2019 but I think the one I poured most feeling into is the review for A Court of Mist and Fury. Although I found quite a few issues I have with Sarah J. Maas’ writing, I was blown away by ACOMAF at that time and beyond excited to write my post.

Well, I don’t really do discussion posts. However, the one post that sparked the most discussion here on my blog, my tumblr page and in real life is definitely my review of the final season of Game of Thrones. I had a lot of opinions when it for this trainwreck of a season and gave a rather detailed account of all the reasons it sucked and everything Benioff and Weiss did wrong. Many people joined in and added all their reasons why they hated the final GOT season.

I haven’t done too many fun posts this year. Between Top 5 Tuesdays and Thursday Movie Picks I just tried to get my regular reviews posted. Well, I did do the Mid Year Freakout Tag. I had a great time coming up with answers to all the questions, so be sure to check it out and tell me your choices!

Real Neat Blog Award!

Hey guys! Little break from my regular posting schedule today.
Katey from Oh So Geeky nominated me for a Real Neat Blog Award. Big shout out to her!

The ‘rules’ of the Real Neat Blog Award are to thank the person who nominated you, answer seven questions, nominate fellow bloggers, and ask new questions for others. So let’s get started!

Katey’s Questions:

If you could possess one of the Infinity Stones and use it, which would you pick and why?

I’ll go with the Space Stone! I absolutely love traveling so what would be better than a stone that allows me to instantly transport to any universe?

Which movies are you looking forward to this fall/winter?

Two of my most anticipated releases already came out and naturally, I immediately went to the cinema to see them: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and It Chapter 2. Anyway, there are still some films I am super excited to see this year. Those include Jojo Rabbit, Downton Abbey, The Joker and the new Star Wars film!

What is your go-to comfort tv show?

Tough one! There are several TV shows I absolutely adore and just never get old. At the moment, I guess, Queer Eye is the one that gives me a fuzzy warm feeling somewhere deep inside and never fails to make me happy.

If you could invite three fictional characters from any fandom over to dinner, who would you pick?

Any incarnation of the Doctor from Doctor Who! I’d also love to chat with Sherlock. As I’m currently getting into Hemlock Grove I’d settle for either Roman or Peter!

The Mid Year Freak Out Tag – 2019 Edition!

Hello, my lovely readers!
Before I continue with my reviews on the MCU films, I’d like to give a shoutout to Shanah from Bionic Book Worm, who came up with the Mid Year Freak Out Tag. I always make sure to participate in her Top 5 Tuesday series and was now tagged to do this post as well!
So let’s take a look at my bookish year so far and what is to come in the second half of 2019!

I read many great books this year but I think my favorite so far is The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I only picked the book up because I saw it all over Instagram and fell in love with the cover art. That it turned out to be so brilliant was a great surprise!

As I am going strong in terms of YA books this year, my favorite sequel has to be Crooked Kingdom. I’m currently about 2/3 through and am beyond thrilled!

Liebster Award :D

Hey my lovely readers!
Darta, the amazing owner of the blog The Butterfly Girl, nominated me for a Liebster Award. I am super excited so let’s get down to answering her questions!

First of all – Da Rules:

Liebster Award is an award given to bloggers by bloggers with aim to discover and spot new bloggers.

1 → Acknowledge the blog who nominated you;
2 → Answer the 11 questions that your nominator has asked you;
3 → Nominate 11 other bloggers;
4 → Ask them 11 questions;
5 → Let them know that you have nominated them;

Darta’s Questions:

1. What movie title would describe your blog the most and why?
My blog was originally named after a quote from Planet Terror before I re-branded it! However, for this question I’ll go with A Life Less Ordinary. It’s not exactly a famous or popular movie, but that’s just why it fits. I have a talent to never quite fit in, so I might as well embrace it. On my blog I often share unpopular opinions and disagree with what everybody else seems to love. So cheers to doing things differently! Continue reading

Describe Yourself in 3 Fictional Characters – Movie Edition

Hey Guys!
About half an eternity ago I did a post where I described myself in 3 TV show characters. Today I’m going to continue: it’s movie time!

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter):
I remember seeing the movie in theaters and thinking: That is so me. Her attitude, her looks, her ambition. Even the sarcastic comments and that she’s constantly correcting everybody. Although I may not be that hyper-motivated when it comes to studying, I’m always well prepared and ahead of time. 100% me.

Lydia (BeetleJuice):
Beetlejuice is one of my all time favourite Tim Burton films. He’s one of my favourite directors and for this movie he got Winona Ryder on board. I love almost all of her 80s and 90s flicks but her role as Lydia is the most relatable for me. She has no friends, a taste for the dark and unusual. I was (and I guess I still am) a very weird kid with a slight obsession for the obscure. So yeah, you see the connection…

I’ll go with most inspiring quote, as I always love an interesting line!

2 – Who is The Last Jedi?
For me, it’s Luke Skywalker as I only watched the old movies. I really need to catch up!

3 – Which Director should take over from Ben Affleck for The Batman?
Tough question! I can imagine Peter Jackson would make a very atmospheric film out of this stuff. Continue reading
