Real Neat Blog Award!

Hey guys! Little break from my regular posting schedule today.
Katey from Oh So Geeky nominated me for a Real Neat Blog Award. Big shout out to her!

The ‘rules’ of the Real Neat Blog Award are to thank the person who nominated you, answer seven questions, nominate fellow bloggers, and ask new questions for others. So let’s get started!

Katey’s Questions:

If you could possess one of the Infinity Stones and use it, which would you pick and why?

I’ll go with the Space Stone! I absolutely love traveling so what would be better than a stone that allows me to instantly transport to any universe?

Which movies are you looking forward to this fall/winter?

Two of my most anticipated releases already came out and naturally, I immediately went to the cinema to see them: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and It Chapter 2. Anyway, there are still some films I am super excited to see this year. Those include Jojo Rabbit, Downton Abbey, The Joker and the new Star Wars film!

What is your go-to comfort tv show?

Tough one! There are several TV shows I absolutely adore and just never get old. At the moment, I guess, Queer Eye is the one that gives me a fuzzy warm feeling somewhere deep inside and never fails to make me happy.

If you could invite three fictional characters from any fandom over to dinner, who would you pick?

Any incarnation of the Doctor from Doctor Who! I’d also love to chat with Sherlock. As I’m currently getting into Hemlock Grove I’d settle for either Roman or Peter!

Praise for Fanfiction Writers

Hello, my lovely readers!
Today’s post will not be a review. Instead, I’d like to talk about fanfictions.
I’d love to start a discussion, so let me know your thoughts in the comments!

I hadn’t read any fanfics for years when I stumbled upon some material on tumblr. Suffering from a huge bookish hangover after reading the ACOTAR series, I was glad to find something related to the characters. That’s when I found a brilliant fanfic I already reviewed over here.

There are many people who look down on fanfiction writers and don’t see any worth in their works. However, the more fanfics I read, the more fascinated I am. There are so many talented and creative people out there. The fic I mentioned above is just as long as the books in the ACOTAR series. Consider how much time and effort went into compiling that story!

T5T: Top 5 reasons I love reading

Hello, lovely readers and welcome to Top 5 Tuesday!
It’s hosted by Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
So here we go with my Top 5 reasons I love reading!

#1 – The Dark and Quiet:

I love to read at night. When everything around me is utterly quiet. Since I bought an e-reader, that has a built-in light, I usually sit in the dark and read. It’s the most wonderful feeling to be wrapped in blankets, nothing but darkness and silence swirling around me, only a book to keep me company. It’s a feeling only reading can give me.

#2 – The Focus:

When reading, I can’t have anything else disturb me. I don’t have any music on or the TV. When I pick up a book I have to focus solely on the piece of writing in front of me. I usually have a tendency to do ten things at once, but reading forces me to sit down, to quiet down and choose to do this one thing. But not just physically do it. You can’t have your mind wandering around, going through to-do-list and worrying. Unless you really focus on what you are reading, you’ll have to go over the same passage multiple times.
I guess, when I am reading is the only time I am utterly at peace with myself and the world.

#3 – Foreign Worlds:

“Books are for people who wish they were somewhere else.” That’s a quote attributed to Mark Twain.
When you read, you can venture into new worlds. Leave the shackles of this one behind. You are not bound to a single place. Words can take you anywhere – everywhere imagination leads.
Twain is right. Sometimes it’s an escape. The only form of escape you can get. The easiest form of escape you can get.
It’s beyond beautiful to discover a new world, full of magic, full of wonders, full of beauty. Somewhere far away.

What to expect from The Punk Theory in 2019

Hey guys!
In the last post of 2018 I want to share my plans for The Punk Theory. Many great things are to come in 2019!

  • I’m planning to change up my usual blogging routine and write more posts.
  • Some months (not all of them) will have certain topics. I want to surprise you with most of them, so I’ll only tell you what I’ve got for January: it’ll be Alfred Hitchcock month! He’s one of my favorite directors so the first month of 2019 will be dedicated to his movies.
  • I’ll be doing more movie reviews in 2019, but don’t worry, there will also be months focusing on books, TV shows and of course book vs. movie posts!
  • Furthermore, I want to be more social and connect with other bloggers. I was a bit stressed out in 2018 so I shamefully neglected that. In 2019 I will regularly participate in Thursday Movie Picks and Top 5 Tuesday!

Liebster Award :D

Hey my lovely readers!
Darta, the amazing owner of the blog The Butterfly Girl, nominated me for a Liebster Award. I am super excited so let’s get down to answering her questions!

First of all – Da Rules:

Liebster Award is an award given to bloggers by bloggers with aim to discover and spot new bloggers.

1 → Acknowledge the blog who nominated you;
2 → Answer the 11 questions that your nominator has asked you;
3 → Nominate 11 other bloggers;
4 → Ask them 11 questions;
5 → Let them know that you have nominated them;

Darta’s Questions:

1. What movie title would describe your blog the most and why?
My blog was originally named after a quote from Planet Terror before I re-branded it! However, for this question I’ll go with A Life Less Ordinary. It’s not exactly a famous or popular movie, but that’s just why it fits. I have a talent to never quite fit in, so I might as well embrace it. On my blog I often share unpopular opinions and disagree with what everybody else seems to love. So cheers to doing things differently! Continue reading

I’ll go with most inspiring quote, as I always love an interesting line!

2 – Who is The Last Jedi?
For me, it’s Luke Skywalker as I only watched the old movies. I really need to catch up!

3 – Which Director should take over from Ben Affleck for The Batman?
Tough question! I can imagine Peter Jackson would make a very atmospheric film out of this stuff. Continue reading
