Hey, guys!
Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks.
It’s a series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme.
I’m quite excited for this week’s theme, as dark academia is an aesthetic is absolutely love.
#1 Kill Your Darlings
The first movie on today’s list is brought to you by tumblr. I have never actually watched it, but I’ve seen so many people post about it. It’s mainly stuck in my head because there is one screenshot somebody posted with the caption “when did Draco seduce Harry in the Shrieking Shack?” 😂
#2 Dead Poets Society
If there ever was a movie that had Dark Academia vibes, it is Dead Poets Society. It’s like the OG in this category.
#3 The Dreamers
I randomly remembered this movie the other day and almost thought I had imagined it because it is on none of the streaming services. 😅
What’s your favorite film with dark academia aesthetic? Let me know in the comments!

We Match with Dead Poets. I ha ha to see your first pick as I wanted to when it first came out but then I forgot about it. I have no clue what Dreamers is about. It looks like there is no real plot. I will look it up

Kill Your Darlings is a film that I haven’t seen but I want to. I have seen Dead Poets Society while I still have my DVD copy of The Dreamers in its uncut NC-17 version.

We match on Kill Your Darlings! You should definitely watch that. I would’ve used The Dreamers too had I not used it for Cinephile week.

I’m not sure I commented here..I thought I did. We match with Good Will which might be popular this week. I want to see your first pick..I remember the trailers and know about these characters from real life. I have not heard about the Dreamers but it sounds interesting…maybe, one day, it will be on TV.
