Hey, guys!
Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks.
It’s a series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme.
To kick off May, we’re going to talk about some films featuring cinephiles!
#1 Cinema Paradiso
Let’s begin with the ultimate film about cinephiles, Cinema Paradiso. It was literally the first thing that came to mind when I read the topic and I fully expect it to make an appearance on many lists this week.
#2 Film Geek
Next up, we have a flick that I stumbled upon while doing some research. Film Geek sounds like I’d enjoy watching it a lot and it’s a great fit for this week’s theme.
#3 Hugo
Last but not least, we have Hugo. This is a film that I’ve had on my radar for ages but somehow never got around to actually checking out. After watching the trailer when writing this post, I’m doubly intrigued now!
What’s your favorite film about cinephiles? Let me know in the comments!

We match on Cinema Paradiso! I didn’t care for Hugo. I love Scorcese but he’s not great at directing children that aren’t Jodie Foster and unfortunately that’s who we spend the most time with in that movie.

We share a pick with Cinema Paradiso. Great film. Hugo is great as well but I haven’t seen your other pick.

We Match with Hugo and I love this film where many in our land do not care for it. I think it’s wonderful and pay great homage to Melies. I am one of a few who still must see Cinema Paradiso and I now want to see the other film which looks quite good.
