Hey, guys!
Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks.
It’s a series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme.
For this year’s final romance trope edition, we look at TV shows instead of films. So, let’s talk about workplace romances in series!
#1 Brooklyn Nine-Nine
The first couple that came to mind when I read the theme was Jake and Amy. They are wonderful together and I appreciate that the show took its time, allowing it to develop naturally. It’s probably one of the cutest workplace romances I have ever seen on TV and in film.
#2 Better Call Saul
This is another one I really like, because just like Amy and Jake, this one has grown over some time. It’s the kind of on-screen relationship that feels the most organic to me (and doesn’t make me roll my eyes because it’s written in a stupid way). Better Call Saul is a great show in general but I think they also nailed it with Jimmy and Kim.
#3 Parks and Rec
I have a confession to make. I’ve never seen Parks and Recreation. BUT I have seen so many memes, not just about the show but about this couple in specific, so I think it is a great fit this week!

I also went with Jake and Amy! I love that they didn’t push the romance as the focal point of the show and let it just develop organically. Ben and Leslie is also ❤

Great choices! Do you know that I’ve never seen a full episode of Parks & Rec and yet, I’m in love with half the characters because of youtube? Such a strange world haha

I have not watched any of these but I always wanted to see Brooklyn Nine-Nine. They do all seem intelligent and funny.
