Thursday Movie Picks: 2021 Releases

Hey, guys!
Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks.
It’s a series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme.
For 2022’s first post we will take a look back at 2021. However, when I looked up my list of 2021 releases on Letterboxd, I realized that I only watched a grand total of 4 movies that came out last year!
(the one I didn’t include in today’s list was a Christmas film that I already talked about in length just two weeks ago!)

#1 Black Widow

I was so excited when this movie was first announced. And just as sad when it kept getting pushed back again and again. Well, Black Widow finally arrived in theatres and I went to say it on day one!

#2 Red Notice

This star-studded action flick came to Netflix this year. It’s the perfect film if you want to turn off your brain and just relax with some mindless action. Nothing outstanding to report with this picture but it was a good time!

#3 Willy’s Wonderland

This movie was so much more fun than it had any right to be. Sure, it is batshit crazy and really dumb at times. But somehow it works, made me laugh and entertained me!

What’s your favorite 2021 release? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’ve only seen Black Widow so far as I liked it a lot more the 2nd time around as my theatrical viewing of it was terrible because of the projector went to shit a bunch of times. I have no interest in watching Red Notice as the Crock can suck my dick.

  2. I am sooooo late being here but we match with the first! I would love the see the second flick since I like all 3 leads and it looks like fun. The last pic with Cage does seem batshit crazy and will either be fun to watch in a bad movie kind of way or it’s just a bad movie.
