Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
We’re kicking off 2022 with some bookish resolutions, that I’ll 100%, without a doubt will stick to this year. 😂
#1 Read the books on my tbr
I think every reader can relate to this: there are just too many amazing books and not enough hours in the day. So, I constantly keep adding stuff to my tbr list on Goodreads when, realistically, there is no chance of actually reading all of them. Maybe this year I can tackle some of the books already on there instead of just adding new ones?
#2 Stop hoarding new books I have no chance of getting to
This kind of ties in with the first one. I don’t just add new books to my tbr, I often get ahold of them immediately, only for them to end up sitting on my shelf collecting dust. So, I really want to try to not get more new stuff before I at least made a dent in all the novels I already have.
#3 be more active on bookstagram
I already made this resolution last year and failed absolutely miserably. Most of the time I am a bit too lazy to post on bookstagram but I also feel like I have nothing interesting to post. Most of the books I read are e-books and those simply don’t make for the best of photos. I’m generally not the kind of person to spend a lot of time on social media, so I’m also terrible at engaging with other accounts. Hopefully, this year I can get off my ass in this regard!
#4 be more active with commenting on other book blogs
Goes with #3 😅
The thing is, I usually write all my posts quite a while in advance and bulk write a bunch of them when I have a (rare) quiet weekend. So, once they actually go up, I might be busy and forget to check on the comments others leave on my blog. Even worse, I forget that it’s e.g. Tuesday aka the day to have a look at everybody else’s T5T posts! I really want to be better about this in 2022.
#5 actually write my reviews in a timely manner
While I do write my reviews quite a while before they get published, that doesn’t necessarily mean I write them right after I finished watching/reading. Sometimes I can’t fathom the motivation to sit down and pen my thoughts and weeks go by. It has happened before that I had to rewatch a movie I wanted to review because I just couldn’t remember the thoughts I had had on it. So, better luck this year 😅
What’s a bookish resolution you made this year? Let me know in the comments!

Yes, I would like to acknowledge that I am bad at all of these. Maybe we need a big sign-up sheet for all of our resolutions 😂

Getting better at commenting on other people’s posts is always on my list as well. I’m trying, but I’m not great haha
