Top 5 Tuesday: Sequels you would sell your Soul for

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
This week’s topic is all about sequels I need to have in my life right now and I’d sell my soul for.

#1 Sorcery of Thorns – Margaret Rogerson

I loved the worldbuilding in this one, with the books and everything. While I liked the idea of this being a standalone, I would like to explore some of the aspects of the story more!

#2 Eight Will Fall – Sarah Harian

If I recall correctly, this was initially supposed to be a duology but ended up being only one book instead. It showed. I wanted to read more about the backstory and the ending felt a tad rushed and abrupt. So, I’d love to have a sequel that gets to show us all the things we didn’t get a chance to see.

#3 Sanctuary – V.V. James

Sanctuary worked absolutely perfectly as standalone but the idea of it is something that stuck with me. James did such a cool job translating magic to the modern world and incorporating it in such a normal and even logical way. I wish there’d be more story in this world, so maybe the sequel I want could be with completely different characters, but just more of the idea!

#4 The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue – V. E. Schwab

With this one it might be a mix of both a prequel and a sequel. Addie has done so much and seen so much in her life, I’d love to read more about that. And how life (and the God that listened after dark) treats her after The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

#5 Good Omens – Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman

I think my wish is being heard as the show is getting a second season. All I want is more of Aziraphale and Crowley!

What’s a sequel you’d sell your soul for? Let me know in the comments!

  1. OMG!! Good Omens is getting a SECOND SEASON?!! I don’t know whether to be excited or horrified. I would LOVE more of this story (RIP Pratchett), but also, I’ve watched 3 seasons of American Gods to have no resolution(it was cancelled), and honestly, still no clue as to what was actually happening… so I’m on the fence about Gaiman writing more of a show I enjoyed. We shall see…

    • American Gods was so weird. But the thing is the book was good and they still messed it up. It’s not even like they ran out of story to adapt, the third seasons definitely had parts from the novel, so I don’t know why they somehow went downhill in-between and added so much new/different stuff 😅
