Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Next up in our hyped books series: novels that I don’t have the slightest interest in reading. There are plenty of books everybody and their grandma seem to be talking about but still, chances that I will ever pick them up are *very* slim.
#1 Twilight
I’ve never seen the movies and I’ve never read the books. Honestly, the more I hear about either, the less interest I have in checking them out. I heard a podcast on the novels, I saw a youtube video analyzing relationships in the films and just no thank you.
#2 Fifty Shades of Grey
What bothers me about this isn’t the topic which might be why some people are going to skip on Fifty Shades of Grey. From what I’ve heard from all sides the writing is simply atrocious and that is a big issue to me. Sometimes I read a book I’m not over the moon with because I’d like to do a book vs movie post, but here I don’t think I can be compelled to. Even the trailer for the film looked cheesy.
#3 To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
While I’ve heard mostly positive feedback on this, the topic is just very much *not* down my road. Although I am curious, I don’t think I’m going to invest the time since I expect I’d just be rolling my eyes a lot.
#4 The Sun is also a Star
Pretty much all I know about this book is that the cover is very pretty. I initially intended to read it but then I picked up a different novel by Nocola Yoon: Everything, Everything. Oh boy, I had so many issues with that one, I don’t even want to go near any of ther other works for a good long while.
#5 Turtles all the way Down
Oh, John Green. A million years ago I read The Fault in Our Stars and loved it. So I thought, great! Let’s check out more of his books. I went to pick up Paper Towns which I ended up hating with a fire-y passion. I gave it another shot with Looking for Alaska, which – admittedly – I didn’t hate quite as much as Paper Towns, but it still sealed the deal on John Green for me. No matter how popular his books are, I’m not gonna pick up another one.

I’m sorry, I’ve read three out of the five and own both the twilight and fifty shades series. I was obsessed, bit my tastes have changed over the years and those kinds of books don’t thrill me anymore.

There are a bunch of series that I loved but I know for a fact if I read them now I wouldn’t like them anymore.

I have no interest in these books either as I’ve seen the franchises for first 2 books and… they’re shit.

I’ve read 3 out of 5 of those and always the full series if there was one. But i’m not going to tell you which ones, I’m gonna keep that to myself haha

Hahahaha, the only one you might be missing out on is Nicola Yoon’s book… but I can only say that because it’s the only one I haven’t read!! Actually, I quite liked the first Lara Jean book, but the other two annoyed me. Great list!!
