Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Today we’re going to talk about some books I’d like to re-read. I hardly ever do that but there are a few novels, or rather even series, that I would gladly pick up a second time.
#1The Grishaverse books
As you may have noticed, Netflix recently released the Shadow and Bone series which is an adaptation of the Leigh Bardugo Grishaverse books. I read (and reviewed) all of them a while ago, but now watching the show I want to compare details and realized it’s been to long to remember them properly. So, a re-read is in order!
#2 The Folk of the Air books
Last month I finally had a chance to read How the King of Elfhame learned to hate Stories. That reminded me how fascinated I was by the world Holly Black created in these books! I burned through them so fast when I read them, I never really had a chance to savor all the details. I really need to revist Elfhame!
#3 A Song of Ice and Fire
I’m a bit torn about this one. Con: so many books, so many freaking pages. I don’t know how I even managed the first time. Pro: brilliantly written, great characters, amazing stories. When/If the next book comes out, I’ll definitely need to go back as there is much more to the books than there was to the show, and I already forgot many of the differences. I’d love to re-read the novels and dive back into this deeply fucked up world, but there are sooooo many other books to read. 😭
#4 Lord of the Rings
I know I’ve mentioned before that I read the LotR books before and wasn’t that fond of them. However, I recently had a chance to see all three movies at the cinema and it really made me want to give them another shot. I also want to check out the Silmarillion, so why not go through Tolkien’s entire oeuvre again?
#5 Throne of Glass
I read the ACOTAR books twice (still need to pick up the most recent one, though), which as I said is something I rarely do. Sarah J. Maas’ second series of novels, Throne of Glass, was one I devoured. I loved everything about it! A while ago there were rumours about a TV show being made (whatever happened to that?!), which would be even more reason for a re-read!

All very good books and series. I wouldn’t mind reading those again myself.

I think about ASOIAF a lot but I know if I start re-reading them I’ll get mad all over again that I’m STILL waiting for Winds of Winter.

I was lucky to have read the Shadow and Bone trilogy right before the show released (but for the first time). I had only read the Six of Crow books before, but it looked like they wouldn’t stick too close to that anyway. Hope you enjoy your reread!

I think they’re still doing the Throne of Glass series, but COVID got in the way. Fingers crossed they’ll pick it up again soon!!
