Top 5 Tuesday: Books I wish had TV Adaptations

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Last week we talked about books that should be made into to movies, today it’s all about TV shows. Some story are just so amazing, you cannot squeeze all of that into a single film. So, let’s talk about some TV adapations I wish for!

#1 Skulduggery Pleasant

I’ve talked about Skulduggery Pleasant before (reviews coming later this year!), and I just loved every single book in the series. There is so much going on, it’s impossible to fit each book into one movie. You’d have to leave out so much of the story, I wouldn’t make sense any sense more and just ruin the entire thing. So, instead I’m advocating for a Skulduggery Pleasant TV show. The book includes so many interesting side characters, with enough space (aka in a TV show), you’d even have a chance to explore their background further.

#2 The Guinevere Deception

I’m still waiting for book #3 in this series but as you all know by now, I’m such a sucker for a good story about legends and mythology. I absolutely love the novels that are out so far! Since I’d use every excuse in the book to get more TV shows about legends (has nothing to do with me watching Merlin atm), can I petition for an adapation of this? Please and thank you.

#3 Havenfall

Okay, so I was a bit disappointed with the second book Phoenix Flame. Nevertheless, I loved the first one and was fascinated with the worldbuilding and just the entire idea behind the story. Both books are rather short, so you could easily fit all of this into a movie if you wanted to. But instead I’d love to expand this a bit and explore more of the other worlds mentioned in the story. Especially the second book would really lend itself to that and it would help smooth out some of the weaknesses it had. So, give me a TV show and add some depth to this!

#4 Sanctuary

I was like two pages into this book when I first though “this needs to be a TV show”. Eventhough it’s just one book, there is so much going on and so many different view points to take into consideration. The story has everything, brilliant writing, witches, a crime, investigation, surprises, and fascinating world building. To be more precise, V. V. James managed to incorporate witchcraft into the present day in such a convincing and realistic way!
This would be such a stunning TV show!

#5 The Once and Future Witches

More witches? More witches! I just devoured this book and would love to see it adapted so, so much. This story couples the prosecution of witches with the suffragette movement and it works like a charm. This tale of three sister would easily provide enough sustenance for at least one of not two seasons of a TV show.

What’s a book that needs to be turned into a TV show? Let me know in the comments!
