Top 5 Tuesday: debut novels

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Today, we’ll talk about some awesome debut novels!

#1 Anna Bright – The Beholder

This one found it’s way to me via a book subscription box. I immideately fell in with the story and was surprised as well as impressed when I found out that it’s Anna Bright’s debut novel!

#2 Angie Thomas – The Hate U Give

It made my cry in the second chapter. Enough said.

#3 Harper Lee – To Kill a Mockingbird

I may be uncultured: I wasn’t aware that To Kill a Mockingbird is Harper Lee’s debut novel! It’s such a famous and impactful story, it needs to be included on this list.

#4 Stephen King – Carrie

Another big one! At least with this one I was aware that it’s Stephen King’s first novel. A great read!

#5 Ernest Cline – Ready Player One

This one is brought to you by a list on Goodreads that educated me on some debut novels. I loved Ready Player One and also had no idea that it was Cline’s debut!

What’s your favorite debut novel? Let me know in the comments!
