Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Today we’ll talk about some books I wish I had read when I was younger!
#1 Harry Potter
I was suuuuuuper late to the party for this. I do remember seeing the first movie at the cinema though. I wish I had read the books back then when they came out. It would have been a whole different experience that I wish I would have had.
#2 Percy Jackson
My love for Greek mythology was ignited when baby me saw Disney’s Hercules for the very first time. I wish I had discovered Rick Riordan’s books when I was a teenager, I know I would have loved them right away!
#3 Lean in
I read this book during the last year of my master’s and it was quite impactful. It not only includes behavior towards women but also somewhat self-sabotaging behavior that is instilled in women from a young age on. I wish somebody had given me this as a teenager!
#4 Good Girls Revolt
This is somewhat in the same vein as Lean In. Good Girls Revolt includes an important bit of women’s history. Considering that we are talking about the late 60s/early 70s this is a great book to spark awareness for many issues!
#5 Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls
I can’t tell you how happy I am that this book exists now. If only Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls had been a thing when I was little!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one I wish I had read when I was an actual teenager.

Same! Had I read it as a teen I might have enjoyed it. When I finally picked it up I just didn’t like it at all. 🙈

I remember how I kept hoping that someone would come and tell me that I’m to go to Camp Half-Blood when I was younger! Sadly, no one ever came, lol

I started reading Harry Potter when the first two books came out, but quite for a while. I didn’t get back into it until one of the last movies and wish I had stuck with the series the whole time.
