Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for a bookish favorites post. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Today, we’ll talk about some book series I still haven’t finished reading. I will get back to (most of) them at some point, I swear!
#1 Tomorrow when the War began
There are seven books in this series and I read the first three. You see, I started this so long ago, ebooks hadn’t even really been a thing then. So, I got one book for Christmas, maybe the next for Easter, and then maybe one for my birthday. That’s almost an entire year just so I could get a hold of the first three books! And then I couldn’t find a copy of the fourth novel, so I gave up. 😅
#2 Dexter
Years ago, I binged the TV show Dexter that was inspired by these books. So, me being me, I absolutely had to check out the books as well. I read the first one … and wasn’t impressed. Still, I wanted to give the second one a shot. Well, I enjoyed that even less than the first one. This series just isn’t working for me.
#3 Hitchhiker’s Guide to Galaxy
This falls into a similar category as my first pick. I read books one and two, because I had gotten a gift card for a local book shop and they had a copy that included both novels. Although I thouroughly enjoyed those, it took me a while to pick up the third book. You see, living on the country-side, what you can get in a bookstore is very limited, especially because I want to read in English and everything here was in German. So, at some point I wished for the third book for Christmas and liked that as well. But then again, no copy of novel #4…
I do mean to get back to Douglas Adam’s as they are hilarious but it’s been so long, I would have to re-read everything else and I’m just not up for that at the moment.
#4 Millennium
I did read (or rather devoured) all the books Stieg Larsson wrote. When it was annouced that David Lagercrantz would continue the series, I was sceptical but still gave it a shot. Although his take was not quite as good a Larsson’s, I still like this novels. It was only recently that I saw (on a T5T post!) that a new book in the series is out. So, it’s somewhere on my tbr-pile and hopefully I get around to picking it up soon!
#5 Miss Peregrin’s Home for Peculiar Children
I’ve followed this series ever since the first novel came out! Well, I though that there is just one more book I need to catch up with, but according to Goodreads, Ransom Riggs has been a rather busy bee. I read three novels and now there are five with a sixth supposedly coming this year. I guess, I have some catching up to do!
Did you read any of the series I mentioned? Let me know in the comments!

I haven’t read any of the new Dragon Tattoo series after Larsson’s death. I just wasn’t sure it would be worth it.

They aren’t as good as the original books but I still found them quite interesting!
