It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan over on Meeghan Reads and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Today’s post is all about new authors. As I currently have a subscription for two book boxes, I basically discover somebody new every time I pull out the book I get there. So, I’ll share some of my favorite authors I fell in love with recently after getting their novel!
#1 Shelby Mahurin
I know everybody and their grandma had been going on about how amazing Serpent & Dove is. I got the book a while ago, but never really had time to pick it up. Well, until a few weeks ago. Despite some issues I have with it, I love Mahurin’s writing style and can’t wait to read the next part.
#2 Tricia Levenseller
From the cover art alone I was already in love with The Shadows Between Us. Levenseller deliver the delightfully wicked Slytherin romance I didn’t know I need in my life and now I need more. I’m absolutely delighted to pick up more of her novels.
#3 Kat Dunn
You know what I really dig? When an author teaches me something. Not in an in your face way, but with facts peppered throughout the story the make me spend hours on Wikipedia afterward. With Dangerous Remedy Kat Dunn not only gave us a novel that takes place in a rather unusual setting, I also learn a fair bit about revolutionary France.
I’m already excited to dive deeper into that world!
#4 Marie Rutkoski
When I picked up The Midnight Lie I had no idea what I was in for. But Marie Rutkoski created a world that had me fascinated from the very get-go. Her writing has such a unique vibe, it was impossible for me to put her book down. I can only imagine what she did in her other books, but I’d love to find out!
#5 Rena Barron
Some authors have a way with words that makes magic come to life. Rena Barron certainly nailed it on that front. Not only does she ventures into a fascinating world that you don’t often get with novels, but she also pulls you in immediately. The world she creates is both beautiful and frightening. I want more of that!
