Supernatural: Season 8 – A Review

Hello, my darling readers!
Let’s continue down the Supernatural road, shall we? We’re not at season 8 out of 15!

The Plot:

Dean is back form purgatory and he brought a new friend. Well, time to find Sammy and get back to monster hunting and saving the world!

The Rating:

Somehow all the seasons now start out the same way it feels. Each time I can’t help but find it a bit wonky, but I guess we’ll have to live with that.

After the first couple of episodes I had to take a break because they kept saying “a snowball’s chance” or “they got us by the short and curlies” so often, I got annoyed. Maybe I just watched too much Supernatural in too short a time.

Anyways, after a while, I got back to it. There are many things I liked about this season. First of all, the guys finally get a place to call home. I can’t wait for them to explore it further!

Some of the amazing characters return: Charlie Bradbury is back and ready to kick ass. She’s one of my favorites! And then there’s Crowley! Gosh, that snarky little bitch of a drama queen is brilliant. I can’t wait to see more of him.
Furthermore, we get a new cast addition: Osric Chau as a prophet! I feel like he needs a little more time to adapt to his role but he already seems very promising. And of course, there is also Ty Olsson as Benny. I hope we get more Dean/Benny scenes, their dynamic is great!

To be honest, I am not all that sure about the bigger story going on in this season. It’s difficult to come up with something brilliant for 8 seasons straight and I am really curious to see how things will turn out plotwise up until season 15.

This wasn’t my favorite season so far, but it had its great moments. Promising new cast additions and developments still made season 8 enjoyable and have me curious for season 9!
