Jojo Rabbit

Hey guys!
I was so excited to finally get to see Jojo Rabbit. It took forever and a day for this film to be released over here in Austria!
The review is coming in a bit late, but who cares?

The Plot:

Jojo is a rather lonely German who’s world is upside down when he finds out that upstanding German mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home. Not even his imaginary friend version of Hitler can help him figure out what to do now…

The Rating:

Oh, this film exceeded all my expectations!
Jojo Rabbit is wonderful in every way. From the cast over the soundtrack all the way to the story.

As I was familiar with the trailer, I knew the film would be hilarious. It didn’t dissapoint in that department! What I hadn’t expected, however, was that the film would make me cry as well. Gods, this really gave me all the feels.

Let’s talk about the cast, shall we? There wasn’t a single person here that didn’t deliver a stellar performane! Sam Rockwell as slightly crazy army dude, with what can only be described as his boyfriend played by Alfie Allen. Rebel Wilson as fanatic and brutish instructor, Scarlett Johansson as Jojo’s mother. And of course Roman Griffin Davis as Jojo who runs this whole thing or Archie Yates who plays his adorable friend. Finally, we have Thomasin McKenzie as the Jewish girl who will get under your skin.

Just so you know it, the soundtrack is first rate as well. Many great songs that will go straight to your playlist.
The set design and costumes are also first rate. Especially Sam Rockwell’s costume if you know what I mean.

Taika Waititi created something that is funny, isane, touching and heartbreaking. I’m glad that this films get the recognition and awards it deserves!

  1. Sam Rockwell “slightly”crazy? He was crackers haha! I watched this not too long ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, but then, I would watch anything Taika Waititi puts out. His brand of humour and style of movies really appeals to me. The cast was excellent and all delivered! Glad to see you enjoyed it.
