Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Let’s talk about some weird bookish habits I have!
#1 Always bring a book
Wherever I go, I always bring a book with me. Believe me when I say that the existence of ereaders made my life a lot easier. I remember the dreadful summer when I read It by Stephen King and dragged the book around with me while travelling for over a month.
Anyways, the only thing more dreadful would have been not having anything to read.
#2 Listing new words
Since I mostly consume Britsh/American literature, I almost exclusively read in English. It is not my first language, so every now and then I stumble over a new word. To make sure I remember all the new vocabulary I pick up, I have a little notebook where I take down everything.
#3 2 Books at once
Ever since I got an ereader I have the habit of reading two books at once. An actual physical book at home where I don’t have to carry it around and one on my ereader for on the go. It doesn’t always work out the way I intended because sometimes I get really excited about when I have on my ereader and keep reading that at home instead of going through all the paperbacks that keep piling up.
#4 Always finish the chapter
Wether I am reading a physical copy or a digital version of a novel, I always try to finish a chapter. It annoys me a lot when somebody interrupts me and I have to put down my novel before I reach the end of the chapter.
#5 Never bend the spine, fold a page or mark something
I guess this is more of an anti-habit. (is that even a thing?) All my books are in pristine condition and you can barely tell that I actually read them. It makes me cringe so hard when people bend the spine of their books, highlight or write in them or fold the corner of the page to mark their

YES! Always finish the chapter. My significant other does NOT understand this. He thinks there’s something wrong with me because I get upset about being interrupted and/or don’t want to do something else until I finish the chapter.

Not finishing the chapter is CHAOS. We cannot have that.

Agreed with ending at the end of a chapter! I hate stopping mid chapter….. it feels unfinished!

It’s so nice to read that many people do that. I thought I’m alone on that front!

You’re most definitely not alone?

I do that chapter thing too!! If I have to stop reading mid-chapter it drives me NUTS and I can’t stop thinking about it. Like, what if something major happens the next page or something?! Hahaha

I can only read two books at once if one is a ‘classic” format and the other audiobook! Else I get confused!

that’s so interesting! I often read completely different books, so it’s not much of a problem for me.

I can never read more than one book at once. I have to devote my attention to one thing, then move on lol. I’m with you on never folding pages. I hate when I see books that have been “dog eared”

I often end up liking one book a lot and then exclusively digging into that one, completely abandoning my original plans.
