Top 5 Tuesday: Books that exceeded my Expectations

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Let’s talk about some books that completely exceeded my expectations!

#1 Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Strictly speeking not a book but a series of comics. I didn’t really know what to expect from this one but I ended up loving the comics so much! The artworks are absolutely gorgeous and the story is even darker than in the Netflix show. Amazing!

#2 The Cruel Prince

Let’s be honest here: I bought this book solely because I fell in love with the beautiful cover after seeing it on Instagram. Little did I know that I would devour the whole thing and then go down the rabbit hole on tumblr because I couldn’t let go!

#3 The Raven Boys

Sometimes books are really hyped and raise your expectations only to then fall short of what you had hoped for. This is kind of what I prepared for with The Raven Boys. However, I ended up loving the entire series so much!

#4 Sorcery of Thorns

I actually did not have any expectations whatsoever for this one. It came to me in a book subscription box and I didn’t even bother to check what it’s about. Read it in one sitting ’cause I just couldn’t put it down.

#5 The Rules of Magic

I’m always down for a good book about witches but I certainly hadn’t expected this to convince me in more than one department. I love the music references, the romance was good (even though I usually don’t care for that), and it completely slayed in the magic department.

Which book completely exceeded your expectations? Let me know in the comments!
