Hey, guys!
Welcome to another entry for Thursday Movie Picks.
It’s a series hosted by Wandering through the Shelves, so if you want to join the party, head over to her blog! It’s pretty easy: check out each week’s topic and come up with 3 to 5 movies that fit the theme.
This week, it’s a TV special featuring horror shows!
#1 Penny Dreadful
I can’t believe it took me so long to discover this gem. I binged it over one weekend last autumn. 100% recommendation from me!
#2 American Horror Story
What I love about AHS is that with every season they find a new angle to the horror thing. I am not a fan of all seasons, but all in all, the show is amazing!
#3 Ash vs. Evil Dead
This is the most hilarious horror comedy show out there. I’ve already stressed plenty of times who amazing Bruce Campbell is in his role as Ash. So, let me say one more time: go and watch Ash vs. Evil Dead!
What’s your favorite horror TV show? Let me know in the comments!

I watched a lot of Ash vs Evil Dead when I had a free preview of Starz once, it was so funny. If I had that channel I’d probably watch it all the time. I haven’t seen your other two picks, though I know they’re popular.

I watched some of American Horror Story for Jessica Lange and the other grande dames they managed to corral but was never a faithful viewer, too dreary and gory for me.
I’ve heard of the others but never watched.
Once again I’m sitting the week out since these aren’t the sort of shows I watch. I did watch Carnivale when it was on and it had some horror elements but it wasn’t strictly so.

I never did get around to Ash Vs The Evil Dead. I might have to add it to my To Watch list! And I love AHS. I have it on my list as well!

Nice picks! I remember watching Penny Dreadful when it first aired, but I don’t think I ever finished it – so I guess I should sometime. lol Eva and Josh were fantastic though. I agree about American Horror Story – I’m not a big fan of some seasons, but it’s pretty enjoyable.

They are actually rebooting Penny Dreadful and creating an L. A. spin-off. I’m really excited about that.

I love AHS too but I am with you in that not all the seasons are equal. The current one is a mess!
My other main pick would be The Haunting of Hill House.

I don’t know what it is about the current season that puts me off. I don’t hate by I can’t really get into it either.
The Haunting of Hill House has been on my list since the first day I got Netflix. Once I am done with all the new season that just came out, I get started with that one.

It took me a while to get to Penny Dreadful too, but not because I didn’t know of it, but because I thought it looked too scary for me. I ended up watching and liking it a lot.

I had heard lots about Penny Dreadful but I don’t think it aired on German TV so I had to wait until I had Netflix.
