Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
This week I’ll the talking about the funniest bookish characters I can think of!
Apollo from the Trials of Apollo
Just about every character Rick Riordan has ever written about comes with a dashing sense of humor. His books made me laugh out loud more often than I can count.
One of the most hilarious characters is the God Apollo, who was cast out of Olympus and is now stuck in the body of an average teenager. You wouldn’t believe what Riordan has done so far with this!
The Weasly Twins from the Harry Potter books
You can’t talk about fun without naming the Weasly twins. Fred and George are the most famous pranksters of the Harry Potter universe. They are funny, adorable and I want to be best friends with them.
Aelin Galathynius from the Throne of Glass
Aelin is one of the most relatable characters I ever came across. She has a great sense of humor and just as much a taste for sarcasm. I can roll with that!
Nikolai Lantsov from the Grishaverse books
I finally read Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse books and let me tell you, Nikolai is amazing. He’s charming, funny and just the right amount of full of himself. In King of Scars he gets to take the lead and I love it!
Tyrion Lannister from the A Song of Ice and Fire books
Where are my Game of Thrones fans? Whether you read the books or just watched the show, you’ll know how witty Tyrion is. His comments are one of my favorite parts of the entire series!
Who is your favorite funny character? Let me know in the comments!
Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Bloglovin‘, Tumblr, Goodreads, Letterboxd or Instagram!
I love Aelins sarcasm as well, and if you check the dictionary for fun, the Weasley twins will be there.
I also think Nina from six of crows has a great sense of humour!

Yes she has! I considered including her but I wanted to pick one character from the Grishaverse books.

Oh man! See, I knew I’d forget some good ones until I saw other people’s lists! Tyrion Lannister is a perfect choice! Love it! And I can totally see Nikolai being one, too!

Peter Grant from The Rivers of London series.
Mark Watney from The Martian
Allan Karlsson from The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared
I don’t read loads of books with funny characters though.

Definitely Mark Watney! I can’t believe I didn’t think of him.
I’ve heard of your other two picks but never read them. Will make sure to check them out, though!

I miss the early GoT days when Tyrion was a little more light-hearted! He had some of the most amazing lines 😀

Tyrion is a perfect pick for this week, he cracks me up, especially when he sasses Joffrey. I’ve just finished re-reading the first book and when he’s at the Vale ‘confessing his crimes’ I was laughing so hard!

Ah the Weasleys. Fred and George are hilarious. Even in the film versions, they’re a hoot. I loved those guys.

I love the Weasleys and Tyrion, but I feel like Stannis is the funniest character in ASOIAF. Unintentionally of course but so much of what he says just amuses me to no end.
