Jessica Jones: Season 3 – A Review

Hello, my darling readers!
I finally have some time to catch up with all the new seasons that came out (more or less) recently. The first new season I sat down to binge was Jessica Jones third and final one. Let’s talk about it!

The Plot:

Jessica tries to settle into some kind of routine while Trish is living the vigilante life. Neither of them can keep their game up for very long, when a new psychopath enters the scene…

The Rating:

Jessica Jones is one of the first comic adaptations I really liked. She’s generally one of my favorite characters as I find her rather relatable. She’s not taking shit from anyone, has a no-nonsense attitude and finds most people annoying. I dig that.
So, I was both excited and sad when the third season came out as I knew it would be the last one.

Although the third season has (so far) the lowest rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I really enjoyed it.
Krysten Ritter is a brilliant actress and I can’t help but marvel at her performance in Jessica Jones. She is one of the main points that make the show worth watching.
Another great piece of acting comes from Carrie-Ann Moss who plays the ruthless lawyer Hogarth. In this season she’s more vulnerable than she has ever been and Moss delivers it in a way that’ll give you goosebumps.

I’m sorry to say that I just don’t really care for Trish’s characters, although her depiction in this season was also very emotionally charged.
In general, what keeps this season going is the emotional side of things. Not the fighting or the actions scenes but the character development and heartbreak moments.

Honestly, the main story line with the psychopath didn’t faze me all that much but the specific reactions of the characters did. I’m sad that we don’t get to see where they’d go after that season, as many doors have opened with this season and I have no idea which one they’d choose.

The third and final season of Jessica Jones was a strong one, maybe not in terms of superhero stuff, but certainly when it comes to human emotions.
Sad to see the show go, but make sure to check out the final season anyways!
