Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Shanah Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
For this month, Shanah came up with something very special. Each Tuesday I share my top 5 books beginning with the respective letters of the alphabet assigned for the day.
It’s our final post for this month so I’m covering the remaining six letters, U, V, W, X, Y and Z!
U – The Umbrella Academy
I usually don’t read comics but after watching the Netflix adaptation I was curious. The style is pretty cool, but the story was weird (even weirder than the show!) and hard to follow. I read both volumes in an afternoon, so it wasn’t much of a loss but I definitely prefer the show.
V – The Vile Village
Did you know that there are 13 books in Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events? The Vile Village is one of them. It’s not my favorite in the series but I found it quite intriguing!
W – The Wicked King
Did you really think I’d finish the T5T posts without throwing some Holly Black into the mix?
The Wicked King is a brilliant book and the final installment of the series can’t be released soon enough.
X – X
I couldn’t think of any books I read for the final three letters, so these will be novel on my to-read-list!
X was written by Jack Croxall and tells the story of a doomed survivor documenting her final days in a diary. Sounds fascinating to me!
Y – You
I can’t watch the show on Netflix before I read the book. So You is actually among the top novels of my to-read-list. As far as I know, it’s a creepy stalker story with social media thrown into the mix. Must read for me!
Z – Zombies vs. Unicorns
Did somebody say Unicorns? I only found this book when doing research for this post! Obviously Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier edited this anthology of stories featuring either zombies or unicorns. I need to get my hands on this one asap!
Can you name a book for each letter? Let me know in the comments!

Ooooh I hope you enjoy You! I haven’t read the book but I’ve watched the show and then read the second book – and I loved both.

I’m with you about Umbrella Academy! I absolutely hated the graphic novels and I couldn’t follow the story at all! And I love “The Vile Village”! I almost picked that for my “V” as well!

These posts really were a challenge – it took me forever to cover all the letters.

I think we all struggled with this one. Lol! Half of my list are on my TBR shelf and X is a book I found on Amazon that I probably will read but haven’t bought yet. I also saw X by Jack Croxall but I don’t think I’m brave enough to read it. I’ve added the Zombies v Unicorns book to my Amazon wish list. x

I’ve heard many good things about Vicious, I really need to check it out.
Watership Down is on my list but ssomehow I never got around to reading it.
The other books will also go straight to my to-read lists!
