Thor

Hey, guys!
After The Incredible Hulk, we have another new addition to the MCU franchise to discuss today. Thor is one of the original six Avengers, so let’s talk about his first film!

The Plot:

After the Asgardian God Thor fucked up big time, his father Odin exiled him to earth, stripped of his powers.
As Thor tries to settle on earth, his “brother” Loki has big plans…

The Rating:

While I wasn’t overly fond of The Incredible Hulk, Thor really did it for me.

What they did with the original Norse myths is quite surprising and I love that Marvel decided to go in that direction.

One of the biggest points that made Thor so great is the sense of humor. So many moments in this film are outright hilarious.

Apart from that, we get some impressive fighting sequences and the set design for Asgard is stunning. Anthony Hopkins stars as Odin, Rene Russo as Frigga, his queen. How could that not turn out great?

I wasn’t too thrilled by Natalie Portman’s character as I didn’t feel the chemistry between her and Thor, but I’m prepared to overlook that.

However, the most valuable asset of Thor is Loki. Tom Hiddleston plays the character to perfection and I can’t wait to see more of him. I heard that the God of mischief will be getting his own series, and I’m stoked about that.

Thor is not perfect, but it certainly is hell of a ride. I’m excited about this addition to the MCU and can’t wait to see the sequels!

  1. Re-watching it now after Thor: Ragnarok (my favorite Thor film), you could see why Odin was angry at Thor and casted him out while I also felt for Loki about who he really is as I saw mainly for PO’TMAN MOTHAFUCKA but I discovered the awesomeness that is Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston.
