Top 5 Tuesday: Debut Novels

Hey, guys!
It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Today I’ll share what’s on my reading list for summer!

#1 Carrie by Stephen King

Stephen King is the most famous horror author out there. In case you didn’t know, his very first novel was Carrie. For me, it was the third of his books that I picked up, but it is my favorite one! Carrie is super intense, and was impossible to put down!

#2 Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I was late to join the party when it comes to SJM novels. Although I do have some problems with her writing, I thoroughly enjoyed Throne of Glass. Did you know that Maas had started writing that book back when she was about 18 years old?

#3 The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

Well, Tolkien is not my favorite writer out there, and I wasn’t over the moon with the Lord of the Rings. However, I am beyond impressed with the world building he did. The Hobbit was the first book of his to come out and was the kick off for what would later become LOTR.

#4 Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Finally. I finally found the time to check out Leigh Bardugo’s writing. So far, I am absolutely in love with her stuff. Shadow and Bone, her debut novel, got me hooked!

#5 Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

I’ve mentioned these books before, but Miss Peregrine’s Home for peculiar children is really quite something. To be honest, I only picked it up because I was completely entranced by the cover and ended up binge-reading it. Ransom Riggs certainly delivered with his first novel!

Which book is on your favorite debut novel? Let me know in the comments!
