It’s Tuesday, that means it’s time for a bookish favorites posts. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Bionic Book Worm and is quite simple: check out the topic and write a post with your picks.
Let’s see about some books I just couldn’t put down!
#1 A Court of Mist and Fury
I wasn’t exactly thrilled by the first book in the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas and had almost quit after that one. However, I kept going and, boy, I am glad I did! After the chapters with Tamlin were finally over, I basically burned through A Court of Mist and Fury as well as through A Court of Wings and Ruin in just three days.
Marissa Meyer had already impressed me with The Lunar Chronicles. Trusting that Heartless would be good as well, I picked it up without even know what it was about. Well, I was sucked into the story from the first page on and couldn’t stop reading!
#3 The Circle
This book was certainly thrilling. The story about a company that is very similar to Facebook and the effects it has on society was so realistic, it scared me. You can’t stop somewhere in the middle when reading a book like that!
#4 The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Thrillers are always hard to put down as I desperately want to solve the riddle the book poses. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo certainly features a crime that you can’t solve easily so I just had to keep reading!
This is one of the most unsettling books I’ve ever read. Inspired by a real crime case that had occurred here in Austria, Room is about a woman and her child who are trapped in a small Room. The woman has been living there ever since she was abducted and even gave birth to her son there. I was too emotionally invested in this book to stop reading for even a second. (Pro tip: check out the movie adaptation with Brie Larson, it’s brilliant!9
Which book did you burn through? Let me know in the comments!
