Hello, my darling readers!
If you haven’t unfollowed me by now for writing so many posts on the ACOTAR series, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this. After finishing the books by Sarah J. Maas I was so sad to let the series go, so I went on tumblr and found the best of all fanfics. A Court of Hearts and Darkness is just about an entire novel that continues the story after ACOWAR!
I’ll just let the wonderful Zoe (who wrote the fanfic) summarize the story:
It’s been over a century since the epic and bloody war against Hybern, but a new, unprecedented horror lies in wait to threaten everything the Inner Circle holds dear.
At a mere 17, it seems that the only one who can save them is the Heir to the Night Court, Feyre and Rhysand’s daughter Eleana, but as a creature so vile promises to kill everyone she loves, she must combat the urge to succumb to the darkness herself. The key to success lies hidden within her mate, the bastard born Kaden, who is as oblivious to the bond as her Court is oblivious to the war on the horizon.
With the help of her cousin and warrior Felix, the son of the famed Nesta and Cassian, they will try to save everything they hold dear, hopefully before the darkness takes them all.
This was just about the most perfect to get me out of my “I finished everything in the ACOTAR series”-slump. Just like with the original books by Sarah J. Maas, I couldn’t stop reading.
Her story is set after ACOWAR as she started writing before ACOFAS came out. So there are a few things that contradict the SJM books. However, I was more than prepared to overlook that little flaw.
A Court of Hearts and Darkness features all your most beloved characters from the original books, but as it’s set quite some time after them, we get so many new characters. Amazing, wonderful characters who will cause your heart to break.
Believe when I say your heart will break. There is one particular chapter with a plot twist I hadn’t seen coming that turned me into a sobbing mess. So I would definitely say in terms of character development, smut and emotional mess-creating Zoe wrote a book that can easily compare with SJM stories.
If you enjoyed the original ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas, please give Zoe’s story a shot. I promise you won’t regret it. Here’s the link!
Did you check it out? Let me know what you think about it!
