Movie Mania: Solo – A Star Wars Story

Hey guys! My Star Wars review series is almost over. So let’s dive right in and talk about Solo – A Star Wars Story!

The Plot:

This is basically a prequel to all the Star Wars movies out there so far. It tells the tale of a young Han Solo. What made him the tough guy he is now? And how did he encounter Chewbacca?

The Rating:

Well, Solo may not be my favorite flick in the Star Wars universe, but it’s a decent film. I had expected virtually nothing and considered it to be merely an easy way to make some cash off the whole franchise. Therefore, I was rather pleasantly surprised.

There’s a lot of stuff going on. We get Emilia Clark who is giving a good performance, but her character didn’t win me over. I enjoyed how Han and Chewbacca met and bonded. For me, that’s the most interesting part of the film. Despite many other stars like Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, and Donald Glover, I am not impressed.

Solo is a quick little dive into the Star Wars universe. It doesn’t feel too serious or special. However, it’s not deep or meaningful enough to leave much of a mark. The back story of Han Solo could have been more intense but still, the movie is better than I had expected.

Solo: A Star Wars story is certainly not a must watch or the most fascinating Star Wars film. Despite its flaws, it is still a nice little flick and I am sure, fans will enjoy it!
