Movie Mania: Star Wars Episode III – Revenge of the Sith

Hey guys! It’s another post in my Star Wars special series. Revenge of the Sith is the third and final installment in the prequel trilogy. So let’s see about it!   The Plot: Lots of stuff going on in this part. Palpatine and Anakin grow closer – much to the worry of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Palpatine might not be who he appears… In the meantime, Padmé reveals that she is pregnant, leaving Anakin in a state of fear after having visions of Padmé dying in labor…   The Rating: Well, that was ridiculous. Where do I even start? First of all, the tried to squeeze some super bad and unfitting jokes in there that ruined the entire mood and simply were not funny at all. Furthermore, Hayden Christensen might just be the worst actor of all. His scenes were simply terrible, without any emotion and not convincing at all.  I literally had to keep myself from laughing out loud at his performance. Even the scenes with Padmé are extremely weak. Natalie Portman gets barely anything to say and mostly just drops lines for Christensen, thus resulting in a disappointing acting as well. I won’t even begin with Samuel L. Jackson and the rest of the Jedi… Moreover, George Lucas went completely over board in terms of CGI. Along with fight-scenes that look like a glorified dancing choreography, Revenge of the Sith generally fails to deliver. The only good thing about this film is that Jar Jar Binks is absent. Although there’s lots of stuff going on when it comes to story development, we find out so much about Darth Vader’s past, Revenge of the Sith disappointed me the whole way. In the future I will just stick with the original trilogy.

    • I think, had I seen the prequel trilogy before the original Star Wars films, my judgement wouldn’t have been so hard. It’s not that bad if you take it on its own, but whenever I compare it, the films just pale.
