Movie Mania: Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones

Hello my lovely readers! Welcome to the next installment in my Star Wars series. Attack of the Clones is part two of the prequel trilogy. So let’s see what it is about!   The Plot: Ten years have passed since the Trade Federation invaded Naboo. Padmé Amidala is still trying to save her people. After she narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, Padmé is placed under the protection of Obi-Wan Kenobi and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker. While Anakin falls in love with Padmé, Obi-Wan’s investigations lead him to a remote planet where an army of clones is being built…   The Rating: Well, it’s finally happened. Attack of the Clones largely bored me. Lots of events were quite foreseeable and to be honest, Anakin’s behavior annoyed the hell out of me. Apart from being very annoying, there’s not much too his character. For somebody this important for the Star Wars Saga, I had expected a lot more depth. Even the battle scenes disappointed me. There are far too many CGI effects and the fighting seems too much like dancing, thus making it look ridiculous to some point. No wonder Attack of the Clones was nominated for lots of Raspberry Awards… Right when I started watching the prequel trilogy, I knew there would be a point when I get fed up with Star Wars. I spent most of this movie rolling my eyes, so I’m not to excited about watching episode III. Nevertheless, I will check it out for reviews sake – so stay tuned!
