Hey guys!
Rick Riordan’s latest installment of The Trials of Apollo was published a couple of weeks ago. I was very excited to get my hands on The Burning Maze! Let’s see what it’s about…

The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan (Cover from Goodreads)
The Plot:
Apollo aka Lester continues his quest to free all the oracles. He’s tramping the maze with our favorite satyr Grover and the ever so irritating demigod Meg to find the third emperor who’s making camp out in the west. Who might that be? And will our heroes be able to defeat him?
The Rating:
Where do I begin. I have to many feelings about this book. We all know by now that Rick Riordan is a master of his trade. With The Burning Maze he delivered another smart, funny, moving novel that you won’t be able to put down.
I loved how this book educates you without being very in-your-face about it. You learn quite some stuff about the Roman Empire and about its emperors. Ever since I’ve finished the book I’m entertaining friends and family with interesting trivia bits on the topic (whether they like it or not). You’d expect that after so many novels on Greek and Roman mythology, Riordan would run out of new stuff but he always manages to surprise me. As usual, The Burning Maze is never boring but hell of a ride. There are so many deep and touching aspects in this book, I found myself wiping tears out of my eyes several times. Another point I appreciate so much about Riordan is his ability to pair tragedy just with the right dash of humor from time to time. The Burning Maze is just as funny as it is sad.
The Burning Maze is absolutely fascinating and capturing. While I try to deal with the heartbreak this book caused me, I hope Rick Riordan hurries up with writing the next part!
Did you read the book? Let me know in the comments what you think!
