TV Show Spotlight: Feud

Hey guys!
Today I want to share one of my favourite TV shows that started in 2017! As anthologies are popular at the moment Ryan Murphy (writer for American Horror Story) created this new show.

What is it about?
Being an anthology, Feud will have a different story each season, however, the main topic – you may have guessed it – are famous feuds.
The first season deals with the rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford sparked by the movie What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, in which they co-starred. So we follow their professional careers, their private lives and learn about (and from) stars of that time.
The second season, which will premier in 2018, is about Prince Charles and Princess Diana – so that is bound to be interesting too!

Why should you check it out?
First of all, the casting is simply divine. Susan Sarandon plays Bete Davis and Jessica Lange has the part of Joan Crawford. Those two actresses alone are reason enough to watch this show. However, even the smallest roles in Feud are filled with big names. We get Catherine Zeta-Jones as Olivia de Havilland, Kathy Bates as Joan Blondell, Stanley Tucci as Jack L. Warner and many more.
I was deeply impressed how well the cast ended up resembling the real stars. At first I was sceptical, I just couldn’t imagine for example Zeta-Jones as Olivia de Havilland but they all proved me wrong. You can clearly tell how much work everyone put into this show not only to look like whoever they portray but also to walk, talk and act like them as much as possible. In this regard, Feud is certainly a master-piece.
Furthermore, we get some insides in how hard it was for women in Hollywood back in the day. Despite the show being focused on Bette and Joan, a good picture of the overall situation is given. I hadn’t known how much struggle each of them had to deal with!
What the show depicts is pretty close to what really happened as many parts are based on real interviews with some of the stars featured. So that makes Feud even more interesting to watch.

Even if Bette Davis and Joan Crawford are new faces to you, I promise you will enjoy this show. It’s a fascinating way of capturing a bit of Hollywood history. And I can promise it will make you check out some of the old classics!
