Book Review: The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket (A Series of Unfortunate Events #2)

Hey Guys!
After I read the first installment of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events I was hooked. So I devoured the next part, The Reptile Room. Let’s see if it’s just as good!

The Plot:
After the Beaudelair children had a close call with Count Olaf a silver lining shows itself in the form of Uncle Monty. Violet, Klaus and Sunny meet their new guardian, an acknowledged herpetologist. But before they can start to feel at home, the events take an unexpected turn…

The Rating:
I’ll make it short: this book is simply amazing!
I’m only two novels into the series but it’s already one of my favourites. Lemony Snicket has a rather unique way of writing. Although the story has a dark tone, he still manages to make you smile. Moreover, you’ll feel with the Beaudelair children from the first moment on.
I was so happy for a brief moment when things were looking up for them, but hey, I ain’t called A Series of Unfortuante Events for nothing.
As expected, the second installment held some surprises for us in store.
Lemony Snicket’s way of telling a story will paint a picture in your head. The Reptile Room is both heart-warming and heart-breaking. I can promise that you’ll love it!

So far, A Series of Unfortunate Events is absolutely brilliant. The second installment, The Reptile Room, is no exception! Can’t wait to read more!

Did you read the book? Watch the movie? Or maybe you even checked out the new TV show? Let me know in the comments what you think!
