TV Show Spotlight: Adventure Time

Hello my lovely readers!
Today I want to show you one of my favourite (and probably one of the weirdest) TV shows out there. Buckle up and get ready for some Adventure Time!

What is it about?
Adventure Time is an animated TV show that has been running since 2010. It follows the adventure of Fin and his adoptive brother Jake (who – for some reason – happens to be a dog). Oh, and Jake has some cool powers: he is able to change shape and size at will. They live in the land of Ooo where they encounter numerous other characters like Princess Bubblegum (the sovereign of the Candy Kingdom), Marceline the Vampire Queen (who is a not only a vampire but an amazing musician), the Ice King (a rather weird and misunderstood guy who constantly runs around kidnapping princesses) and tons more!

Why should you check it out?
When I watched my first episode of Adventure Time I ended up wondering what kind of drugs the creators were on to come up with this. Although it comes along as a kids show I never had the feeling that Adventure Time is intended for children. (They might end up slightly traumatized…)
One of the things I really like is how bright and colorful everything is. There are many different regions in the land of Ooo and I just love with how much details all of them are animated. You can clearly tell that somebody put his heart and soul into it!
Moreover, despite being an animated show the characters have an unusual amount of depth. Throughout the (currently) seven episodes we find out so much about each character’s life and development. Would you have guessed that Princess Bubblegum is a scientist?
But what I like most about Adventure Time is that the show is completely unpredictable. Anything can happen! They even touch rather serious topics from time to time. However, each AT episode contains a ton of humour and so far, the show never has failed to make me laugh (even if it was only the design of a character that turned out to be hilarious)!
Oh and by the way: the opening theme is absolutely brilliant. You will end up singing along, believe me you won’t be able to help it 😉

Do you watch Adventure Time? Let me know in the comments what you think!
