Favourite New Seasons of 2015

2015 was the year of many amazing shows returning for another season. After my post on the best shows I discovered in 2015, I now want to honor all the stunning seasons I followed this year!

 

#1 – American Horror Story – Hotel:
So far I loved all AHS seasons (maybe #4 – Freak Show a bit less than the others…) but this one really took my breath away. It is creepy and haunting. The soundtrack is absolutely brilliant and – as always – the actors are superb. Beside a lot of familiar faces returning for this season, we also got someone new playing her first big role. Lady Gaga took one of the leading roles. At first I was very sceptical but she did an amazing job, I was deeply impressed by her performance.

 

#2 – The Leftovers – Season 2:
After season #1 left me a bit shattered, I couldn’t wait for the story to continue in season 2. The first episode was just great. It was different, it was irritating, it was intense – everything you could hope for. After a thrilling ride, The Leftovers will return for one last season in 2016 and I’m already excited!

 

#3 – Orange is the New Black – Season 3:
OITNB is just perfect for binge-watching. After Netflix released the entire season on 11th June it took me two days to finish all 13 episodes. I love that every episode focuses on a different character and you can experience life through their eyes. Like the other seasons before, #3 also gets under your skin. Can’t wait for season #4!

 

#4 – Game of Thrones – Season 5:
Game of Thrones is basically the God of TV shows. I don’t know any other shows that is so expansive. Last year I finished the book series it is based on and was impressed once more. Not only by the books by also by the brilliant adaptation.
However, this season strayed pretty far from the books at some points. Believe me when I say I’m still not done coping with that. Despite that, all of the actors did an outstanding job and hey, season 6 is almost here!

 

#5 – Orphan Black – Season 3:
Orphan Black was my favourite discovery of 2014. After binge-watching the first two seasons I had a hard time waiting for season 3. I love the subject the show deals with. Clones and that whole scientific stuff are absolutely fascinating to me. It’s a show like no other I’ve ever seen before. Season #3 was just as exciting and thrilling as the first two ones. I can’t even tell how impressed I am with Tatiana Maslany for playing so many roles!
