Vikings – 4 Thoughts on the first 4 Episodes

Vikings is my latest choice when it comes to TV shows. By now I’m four episodes into it and here’s what I think:

1. They very first thing I thought after about one minute was “Hey that’s like Game of Thrones with awesome beards and even cooler braids.” (Don’t get me wrong, that’s a very good thing!)

2. The created atmosphere is intense from the very first moment on.

3. Historical backgrounds are really interesting. Vikings got me to read about the real Ragnar before even the first episode was done.

4. I love the way women are depicted. They are fierce and strong, not just someone for looking after the kids and cooking. They can be fighters (so-called shield maidens) and are considered equal with men in battle.

What do you think about the show? Seen it yet? Like it? Hate it? Let me know in the comments!
