The book I’m gonna talk about today is “The Perks of being a Wallflower”.
Stephen Chbosky wrote about a boy named Charlie who faces several problems. Charlie sends letters about
episodes of his life to a person he doesn’t know as for him this make more sense than keeping a diary.
I think the book was written nicely, the style reminded me a little bit of “Thirteen Reasons Why” by Jay Asher (I already did a review on that one). But I have to say most parts of the book were quite predictable. Although the story was okay and the situations were described quite nicely, some parts seemed kind of stereotyped.
The world seems to be stoked about this book but I am not that excited. It was a decent book but to me it wasn’t such a masterpiece. I’m sure some of you will love it but there are better books out there. I’m curious how the movie turned out.
This is a book for people who fancy coming of age stories, it’s a quick read. It might not be overwhelming for me but maybe it is for you.
6/10
(I recently watched the movie and compared the book with it)
